So after much prayer for spirit direction in all these things over all these years, ...to what exactly has Gods Spirit directed the WTS, his spirit directed organisation?

Now then why do they keep changing their minds and reinventing old light as new light? Wouldnt Gods Spirit if so given lead them directly to correct understanding?

Anything other than that either indicates the absense of said spirit direction, or the direction of a mocking cunning scheming spirit that has little interest in truth wouldnt you say?

Try logic over the less stressful cognative dissonance.

The purpose of the box is in the title.. "Are You Keeping Up With Increased Light?" (why do they insist on capitalising all the words in titles like this?)

The box is right next to the two paragraphs with the generation change in them. Yet the box makes NO MENTION of it.

16 Yrs old and born into it. And yes I believed in it 100%. .....But back in the mid 1980s there was no internet so not at all easy to double check other sources to make a subjective decision about it.

my experience is in no way remarkeable but i felt like sharing it anyway.

i was raised a jw.

my mom became one the year i was born.

Confused and fed up like me? I'm recommending for you to do some research.For me it is the only way to see both sides of it and make a decision.

I've taken a couple of years out and read the NT 3 times over in NWT, Greek Interlinear for comparison, Gideon Bible (very good btw) What struck me was the message was not as clear cut as WTS say and the teachings of Jesus dont square with some of it at all.

I've read 2 volumes of choice (2 and 6) CT Russells studies in scriptures. That was an EYE OPENER!! Whilst the man came thru as honest and humble and geniune in his efforts at serving Christ, ...we see with the wonder that is hindsight, what a load of balls quite a lot of it was. But I had to see that for myself,.. check stuff out is what im saying.

Just because someone tells you something and even SHOWS you EVIDENCE, ...it can still be wrong. CT Russells predictions for various dates were backed up with quite compelling prophesy and calculations,... but were ultimately wrong. Those nasty "Apostates" will tell you stuff on here and elsewhere, ... it may or may not be true or correct (but sadly for us born ins it mostly is!!) It's best to check and double check, which is where i am myself in the checking stage. Empower yourself andf do the leg work and you will start to feel a lot better.

I think the Aware ones (conscious class) among us may well be overplaying the effect it will have tbh.

From my gentle probings (oo err) of others the reactions have been combinations of these:

"What generation change?" (proceeds to show them... then)

"So, what's different about that?"

"That sounds reasonable to me."

"Nothing wrong with that."

My 45yrs "in" Reg Pioneer mother didnt even bat an eyelid FFS!!

DVD "JW's Faith In Action, part 1 Out of Darkness" Omits! Omits! Omits!

i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

parents went to a jw gathering to read the wt for this week.a jw said that only 5 people out of 125 in my congo will survive armageddon and then that elder said: "no,not 5 people,maybe 20".

damn i don't have words for him.

It's mearly vocalising what we are ingrained with over the years, ..do or die. Very sad cult mind control.

when i fell for him i was completely unaware of his upbringing as a jw and only became aware once he decided to leave a few months back.

being raised without much of a religious basis, besides the typical western christian exposure, i have researched, read, attended groups, read in this forum, to try to better understand him, and jws, but i am feeling at a loss here.

he just recently left the jws and now i am experiencing this struggle with him; i am wondering how much of our problems can be contributed to this transition.

My 2p on this...

I am in a similar position to your man except I dont have a relationship with anyone (yet). I am leaving the religion but not quite out yet as trying not to lose my family doing it. :(

You dont give your age group or his or his previous experience with women if any.

These are generalisations I admit and there are obvious exceptions...

A lot of young JW men are arrogant pricks who are sexually repressed and view women as inferior to them, this will be especially so if his father was in the religion and serving as an Elder. Basically the higher up the father was then the more of a prick the son will be. JW's whose father was either not in the religion or not very "into" it tend to make for better more rounded individuals in my opinion.

He may be inexperienced with women (unless he's been a bad boy). His new found freedom may have a negative effect on your relationship in that he has a need (conscious or otherwise) to play around and make up for lost time with lots of women. If this is the case he will resent you and any persieved efforts to "tie him down" in a serious relationship.

Only you know the details and the history between you. I'd recommend the direct approach of shock and awe for this. Pick your moment with care, reassure him of your care and love (if you have it) and then state clearly what the problem is and what hurts you and how you'd like to be treated and what you expect. If he's a real man worth having the penny will drop and he will seek your input into going forward. If he throws a hissy fit, well then you have your answer... he wont change.
